Senior forward Bill Asbuiy 1443 attempts a pass during the Nampa game. Lloyd Neher C427 puts up a shot ln an 81-60 victory over Mountain Home. The traditional basketball image of the Borah Lions changed drasti- cally in the 1972-73 season. Com- peting for the conference champi- onship, the Lions featured one of the best fast-break combinations in the state, together with strong rebounding. In winning thirteen of their first sixteen games on the season, the Lions averaged over 64 points a game despite being stalled by several opponents. Junior Steve Conner led the cagers in scoring with over sixteen points a game, while senior Tim Magnuson aver- aged thirteen on the year. In several contests during the year, the team's overall depth was very evident. Conner, Magnuson, Terry Hutt, Bill Asbury, Randy Lee, and Ernie Thompson were backed up by some very valuable reserves. Seniors Tim Olson and Gary Burtch, along with juniors Lloyd Neher and llo Aman, pro- vided valuable assistance to the starting team. They helped to round out one of the best teams ever seen at the school. Tim Olson C203 and Tim Magnuson C545 battle for a rebound as Bill Asbury C443 looks on.
