Borah students observed Fair day on N ' the second day of the 1972-73 school year. Many members of the student body attended to see the booths and rides, along with the Borah band, drill- team, and flags in their first perform- ance of the year. The groups marched in parade form around the fair. Political Science Club invited many guest speakers throughout the year. A- Among them were local candidates running in the November Elections. The 1972 football season got under- S way with a burst of spirit from the two 'lx , . R returning classes and also the new Lion 2 cubs. with the first few days, the sopho- more class of '75 gained the spirit and ' pride of being a Borah Lion. fx jl5?l'n ' ABQVE: Members of the political science club talk with guest speaker U.S. Congressional candidate Ed Williams after a meeting. BELOW: The Barbershop Boys of the early 1900's show their talents in the junior skit of Ted Muck's Amateur Hour, CGreg Eagy, Doug Flyder, Mark McCain, Virgil Johnson, Mark Blaserj. Beat Capital week was again domi- nated by the annual Lion Tales Assem- bly. Many parents, alumni, and guests attended along with the Borah student body. The junior class took first place in the skit competition with their Ted Mack's Amateur Hour theme. Also win- ning an award was the senior class who gained the spirit stick for the third year in a row at the Lion Tales Assembly. A spirit parade led game night as many members of the spirit-raising clubs walked from Julia Davis park to the Boise State College stadium in their green and gold. Later, nearly 14,000 fans witnessed a game that showed fine effort from both teams, and a final score of Borah 42 and Capital 29. The student body celebrated the vic- tory with a dance the next evening. ,ef The football team is honored with a song from the varsity cheerleaders at the assembly Tighten up that defense line is being sung by Vickie Kelley and Sherry Bonner. The scene of the sophomore Lion Tales skit The Depository, takes place in a city bank where a group of wealthy townspeople representing both Borah and Capital, are taken to the bank to see the S.l.C. trophy.
