For many of us, our years began in September, 1953, when a group of shy first graders entered Boonville Elementary School. We were to become the proud Class of'65. The friends made these first few years have remained irreplaceable; the knowledge gained has been a firm foundation; the years spent have not been wasted. Our elementary years hold many fond memories of chapel programs, class projects, ball games, of eating everything on our plates, of Halloween Carnivals, our trip to Raleigh, and Eighth Grade graduation. In 1961 we left Boonville Elementary School and were joined by a group from Fall Creek to form the rather ner- vous and often noisy freshman class of Boonville High School. ETHEL HUTCHENS DARLENE JESTER JUDY JOHNSON BUDDY KIMMER BRENDA LINEBERRY ELAINE MATHIS DENNIS McKNIGHT BRADY MORRISON Our first year will never be forgotten. Though at first over-whelmed by the tremendous task which lay before us, we grew steadily so that we moved closer to our common goal. To guide us through our first year we had our home- room teachers, Miss Sarah Taylor, Mr. Ralph Walker, and Mr. Bobby Adams. The following year, after a well-earned vacation, we returned for another of our school years. We were a group of, still green, but a bit more sophisticated, sophomores. This was the year to remember. This was the year that most of us turned sixteen and received our driver's license; the year that Howard, Chris, Bruce, Danny and Eddie be- gan their basketball careers; the year that we sang to our Senior class at graduation; the year that Mrs. Louise Coram, Mrs. Louise Randleman, and Mr. Morgan Stanley, our homeroom teachers, accompanied us to Tanglewood for a picnic; and this was the year it RAINED. ROGER MOXLEY LUCILLE NANCE JANIE OLIVER NORMA PARKER By the time another vacation had come and gone, we were expectant, hard-working juniors. There was so much to do in this year - parallel cards to be kept, an autobio- graphy to be written, a play to be produced (It Is a Great Life!), and a prom to be given. Under the direction of Miss Beulah Reece, Mrs. Anita Reece, and Mr. Edward Lakey our ’’Evening in Paris was truly wonderful. RUTH PENDRY TOMMY POPLIN JULIA RANDLEMAN GRAHAM REECE ANNE RENEGAR WANDA ROBERTS ANN SHEPHERD FONNIE SHORE The fall of 1964 started The Beginning of the End for 62 self-assured, confident seniors, under the leader- ship of Miss Phebe Day and Mrs. Hilda McDonald. This last year at BHS has given us many wonderful memories - the thrill of receiving our class rings, the tense moments during ball games, the magic of Homecoming, the excite- ment of our trip to Washington and New York, the worry over college applications, the Senior Christmas tree, and finally, graduation. We will treasure all these memories through the years as we take our places in college, trade schools, and in the community.
