F.F.A. 19 Basebaii 3,4. 611155 History We entered the Freshman year very nervously and noisily with an enrollment of seventy-seven of which nineteen came from Fall Creek. We realized this was a great jump from grammar school but we learned to love it as we adapted ourselves to this new environment. Our homeroom teachers were Mrs. McKnight, Mr. Dennehy, and Mr. Walker. As class officers we elected: Rondal Casstevens, President, Linwood Campbell, Vice Presi- dent, Cora Leigh Hobson, Secretary, and Tony Reece, Treasurer. In our Sophomore year, with seventy-one members, we had begun to have more confidence and to feelat home. We had several boys and girls playing sports that year. Our homeroom teachers were Mrs. Coram, Mrs. Mc- Knight, and Mr. Stanley. We elected the following class officers: President, Rondal Casstevens, Vice President, Cora Leigh Hobson, Secretary, Steve Gross, and Treasu- rer, Tony Reece. Our Junior year found us with only sixty members. One of the highlights of our Junior year was our play, Boarding House Reach, which was directed by Mr. Meyers. It was also a great experience for us to give our Junior-Senior Banquet, Stairway to the Stars, which was held in the community building. This was followed by a Prom. This year we were under the direction of Mrs. Thad Reece and Miss Beulah Reece. Our class officers were: Steve Gross, President, Frank Brown, Vice Presi- dent, Cora Leigh Hobson, Secretary, and Kay Crissman, Treasurer. Our Senior class, under the leadership of Miss Day and Mr. Meyers, started its thrilling, yet sad, concluding year with only fifty-six members. Early in the fall we received our class rings. We were really looking forward to our trip to Washington and New York. This year Sandra Storie won Miss Boonville High, and Charles Moxley, Mr. Boonville High. Catherine Brown was elected Homecoming Queen. We chose Crystal Reece and Sam- my Sparks for our mascots. We elected as our class officers: Charles Moxley, President, Dorothy Brown, Vice President, and Cora Leigh Hobson, Secretary-Treasurer. Historian, Howard McKnight Glass Prophecy I, Sandra Storie, havingbeen elected senior class prophet, am about to look into the future and see what fate will have been with our class ten years from now. First of all, I see myself working in City Memorial Hospital as a nurse. Dorothy Brown is still looking for her one and only. Bonnie Brown is still taking little Mary Lou with her. Nancy Hanks is now playing the piano for an opera company. Shelby Jean Vestal was seen driving one of Donnie's tractors down the road. Cora Leigh Hobson is now trying to decide, what to do next. Phyllis Moxley is still flirting with the boys from Hanes Hosiery Mill. Margie Brooks and Wayne Miller are now moving into their big brick home. When Eddy Poteate ran into the car it was more fatal to him than it was to the car. Rondal Casstevens is now living in Yadkin- ville and he is principal of the school. Catherine Brown is now working at Reynolds waiting for her long lost lawyer to return. Linwood Campbell surely misses standing around in the halls with you know who. Larry Caudle is now trying to stay out of jail. Donald Cave is now flying his own airplanes. Linda Cave is now sweeping up the little E1-ley's. Seems as though Kay Crissman and Linda Steelman don't get much work done since they are sharing an apartment as sister-in-laws. Jo Bill Hicks is now manufacturing left handed monkey wrenches. Betty Sue Jester now has her own Falcon. Peggy Jester is now rearing little Matthews. Rosa Nell Jester now has her own bookkeep- ing methods. Jerry Matthews is still trying to learn how to measure tobacco land. Howard McKnight is now teaching Physics in Mr. Stanley's place. Olese Miller is now running the county bus garage. Charles Moxley is still taking life easy. Roy Moxley still has his very own smile. Ray Parker is so quiet no one ever hears from him. We, the senior class of 1961 knowing that we 27. Howard McKnight wills his seat in second year Donnie Reece still has his very friendly ways. Peggy Reece is now living in East Bend tak- ing life easy. Orrin Shaw, we are glad to say, has finally made up his mind about his many girl friends. Steve Shore is still late for everything. Kay Sizemores fords will still run.
