We realized this was a great jump from grammar school but we learned to love it as we adapted ourselves to this new environment. Our homeroom teachers were Mr. Chambliss, Mr. Walker and Mr. Gillespie. As class officers we elected: Sue Johnson, President; Dean Norman, Vice President; Roger Smith, Secretary; Ardith Hutchens,Treasurer. In our sophomore year, with 60 members, we had begun to have more confidence and to feel at home. Our homeroom teachers were Mrs. Coram, Mrs. McKnight and Mr. Stanley. The only high lights were a few class parties. We elected the following class officers: President, Sue Johnson; Vice President, James Reece; Secretary, Carolyn Williams; Treasurer, Winanne Coram. Our Junior year found us with only fifty-three members but we had great anticipations. There was our Junior Play, Let Me Out of Here, which was directed by Mr. Meyers. It was also a great experience for us to give our Junior-Senior Banquet, Hawaiian Style, which was held in the community building. Following the banquet we attended the movie, The Bridge over the River Kwai, at the Carolina Theatre in Winston Salem. This was a night that will long be remembered by all of us. This year we were under the direction of Mrs.Thad Reece and Miss Beulah Reece. Our class officers were: James Reece, President; Johnny Faw, Vice President; Edith Scott, Sec- retary; and Janice Crissman, Treasurer. Our fingers were measured in the spring and we got our rings early the next fall. Our senior class, under the leadership of Miss Day and Mr. Meyers, started its thrilling, yet sad, concluding year with only forty-nine members. We were really looking forward to our trip to Washington and New York. This year some members were leaders in the Student Council and Major Staff of the yearbook. This year Frances Comer won Miss Boonville High, and Alton Hayes; Mr. Boonville High. Sue Johnson was an attendant at our homecoming game. We chose Melinda Moxley and Jackie Scott for our mascots. We elected as our class officers. Sue Johnson,President; Josie Norman,Vice President; Carolyn Williams, Secretary-Treasurer.
