With part of the students having been in the High School Building and part in the old building it was quite a large jump and experience getting used to high school. We had big plans for that year, but we soon found out thatiit was easier said than done. Our class officers this year were: President, Linda Dorse; Vice President, Gail Shugart; Secretary, Freddy Lakey; Treasurer, Rex Hinshaw. Our Sophomore year was about the usual high school Pattern. We had several boys and girls playing sports this year. We had our class party in the Community Building at Christmas. In the spring we went to Reynolds Park on a picnic, ate dinner and later attended a movie. Miss Boonville High, Gail Shugart, was elected from our class. The boys decided to have a sneak day and found that it didn't pay off. Our homeroom teachers were Mr. Ben Hunnitctt and Mrs. Ralph Coram. Our Class of- ficers were: President, John Mock; Vice President, David Bray; Secretary, Lowell Vestal; Treasurer, Anne Reece. The Junior year was an exciting one for every member of the class. By this time we were beginning to learn thatwe didn't know as much we thought we did. As usual there were several students playing sports. David Groce and Alene Moxley made All County Tournament. The Junior Marshals were Charles Scott, Johnny Mock, Rosalee Moxley, Emogene Wiseman, and Gaynelle Ireland. Itwasa relief when we began the Junior Plays Rooting for Ruth directedby Mr. Meyers and Ghostly Evening directed by Mr. Stanley. Memories of our Junior Banquet Easter in Fairyland will linger with us a long time. After the banquet we went to Winston-Salem to a movie The Tattpred Dress . Miss Boonville High was again elected from our class. This time it was Linda Dorse. Homeroom teachers were Mrs. Anita Reece and Miss Beulah Reece. Class Officers were: President, Rosalee Moxley; Vice President, Charles Scott; Secretary, Jimmy Angel I; Treasurer, Emogene Wiseman. Our fingers were measured for our class rings in the spring of our Junior year, and we were to receive them in October. Our Senior year was a thrilling one, but some sad days went along with the happy one. We were under the guidance of Miss Day and Mr. Meyers. We had now only forty-eight members. We again had some of the athletic stars. It began to look like an old routine as Goil Shugart won Miss Boonville High and Nancy Steelman Football Queen . We elected Twinkle Jo Collins and Ricky Oakes as mascots. This year some members were leaders in the Student Council and Major Staff of the yearbook. All Seniors took part in publishing the first school paper THE BLACKNIGHT under the directions of Mr. Stanley. We were really looking forward to ourNew York trip, as the first class to go to New York, and the Junior-Senior Banquet that someone else would give us. We were looking forward to our Senior Play coached by Mr. Martin. Class officers this year were: Lowell Vestal, President; Freddy Lakey, Vice President; Secretary-Treasurer, Emogene Wiseman.
