As the Seniors assembled in 1956, under the direction of Miss Day and Mr. Meyers, we realized that there were only 46 in the class. We had lost 32 some where along the way. We were in a mixture of moods on this September morning. We were thrilled because at last we were seniors and yet we were sad too, as we realized that this would be our last year in Boonville High. This sad feeling was soon banished as we began to make plans for this last year of high school. This year some of our members had the privilege and responsibility of being leaders in our Student Council, editor and chief and business manager of our annual, and the queen and an at- tendant of our Homecoming. We elected as our mascots Lou Ann Hall and Sonny Davis. A high light of this last year was receiving our class rings, a symbol of our seniority, of which we are very proud. We looked forward to presenting our Senior Play with Mr. Martin as our coach and producer. We were all excited and thrilled as we made plans for the annual trip of the Seniors to our Nation's Capital. As usual the boys and girls of the Senior Class made history in the athletic achievements of the year. Those days were joyous ones, but with all this joy there was a feeling of sadness at the realization this was the concluding year of high school. Soon our names would be added to all those who have become alumni of Boonville High, we too would become a part of the school history, it was the aim of the Senior Class of 1957 to set our standards high and to live up to the expections of our parents, teachers and friends.
