Ou . 34. 5. --1 r On September 14, 193G, forty-seven eighth graders entered Boonville High School The year quickly passed under the direction, of Miss Elizabeth Hewitt and Mr. W.E.Brooks. Our most delightful entertainment was a trip to Roaring Gap and a night at the theater in Elkin. In the fall of 1957, after losing several members and gaining others, we numbered fifty- three. That year our entertainment was a trip to Catawba Dam and the show, which was sponsored by Miss Louise Abrams and Mr. Watt Deal. In our Junior year, the forty-five of us had many trials, but Miss Grace Hayes helped the days pass easily. The highlight enter- tainments were a Halloween party and the Junior-Senior Banquet. The leadership of the thirty-five seniors that enrolled in September 1939 was givent to Bryce Poindexter, president; Violette Wolfe, vice president; Y annie Woodruff, secretary and treasurer; and Miss Grace Hayes, sponsor. This year our Junior-Senior Banquet and the. class parties have been big successes. Mow we leave with one thought in mind: And when honor, fame and fortune In our pathway lie B ack our hearts shall turn to praise you As the years roll by. rZnZLZZZZZZZ7Zz7777Z 'ZZZ77777Z7 77 iZZ777777. Getting away in the early season to a rather inconspicious start, the team gathered skill and, consequently, momentum as the season progressed. Due to the loss of four stars from the great team of 1939, the team this year was not expected to measure up to its immediate predecessor Never- theless, a very creditable record was established by winning nineteen while losing only four. Nannie Woodruff was captain of this years team and possibly its outstanding player. She was ably assisted, however, by Pete Coe, Vie Norman, Ollie Mae hosteller. Cam Shore and Opal Taylor. This starting cast was supported by Axie Shore, Mary Kate Woodhouse, Carolyn Fletcher Margaret Pardue, Lucy Dobbins and Eva Taylor. This reserve sextet saw action in most of the games and aquitted itself very creditably. SUMMARY Dobson Yadkinville West Yadkin Courtney Yest Yadkin Copeland Mt. View Copeland N. The team was well balanced with each player doing, his part. Graham Stinson led the individual scoring with two hundred and five points.
