Endless love for Queen ISeeky With the musical theme Endless Love being ployed in the background, Miss Becky Mer- rill was crowned Homecoming Queen by her escort Kip Beard. Her Maid of Honor was Miss Pom Bruce who was escorted by Delbert Monroe. At the condusion of the ceremony, Queen Becky and her court rook their place on the platform decorated by the Art and Publicity Committee of Stu- dent Council. Volleyball team has great season Our volleyball girls worked hard ro improve rheir skills this year. In November they travel- ed ro Bloomington ro help wirh rhe Indiana Universiry-Purdue University Monon Spike gome. Then, in December, rhey went ro Purdue ro work rhe boll rota- tion for rhe NCAA Regional finals against UCLA and Western Michigan. The volleyball season began for rhe girls wirh rheir fifth annual volleyball camp, under rhe direc- tion of Doug West and Sharon Moore of Indiana University. The season ended wirh o remarkable record of 19 wins ond 6 losses for rhe varsiry ream and 11 wins and 3 tosses for rhe junior vorsiry. Season highlights included a win over 13rh ranked Marer Dei in rhe Invirartonal Tour- nament. Other memorable evenrs included winning two in- vitational tournaments, placing second in rhe Secrionol, ond plac- ing two girls on rhe Big Eight Con- ference ream. They were Delma Willerr and Berh Winserr. Darla Gerber was selected by her teammates as rhe most valuable player for rhe 1983 season, and Tammy Lohr rook rhot honor for rhe junior vorsiry.
