e,ffa5-' Ric ow Boonville girls were champions of them all this year. They were victorious in every tournament they entered which included: the Flat Rock Tourney, the Four County Tourney, the Yadkin County Championship and as a grand climax to a most outstanding season they were crowned champions of the Journal-Sentinal, North-West N. C. Tournament. It was truly a fitting finish for a most remarkable group of young girls. In all they won thirty-one games, lost three and tied one. Coached by Professor Albert Martin, the team led by Amburn, Doub, and Woodruff as forwards, and J. Norman, Coram, V. Norman and Coe as guards displayed the style of play that is witnessed only in champions The above mentioned players were ably assisted by Mosteller, Shore, Dobbins, Pardue and Fletcher. Boonville's girls, a group much smaller than the average team, made up for this literal shortness by their speed, cleverness and deception. It was in this latter phase of play that their performance dis- played a poise and finesse seldom seen in the play of girls.
