Heredity determines the color of her eyes, but her environment lightens them. Always put off today what you can do tomorrow. This world I can touch, and I likewise judge that it exists. There ends all my knowledge. To insure peace of mind ignore the rules and regulations. The truth doesn't hurt unless it ought to. Humble voyagers are we, o'er life's dim, un- sounded sea. You will enjoy true happiness by making others happy. To get wisdom is better than goldg to get under- standing is to be chosen rather than silver. The grand essentials of life are something to do, something to love, and something to hope for. The spirit is willing, but the flesh is weak. I'm an example of the American System of rugged individualism. If all men were as modest as I, the world would be a better place to live in. Use your heady it's the little things that count A man prepared is a man hurt by delay. A grief shared is half a griefg a joy shared is twice a joy. The only way to have a friend is to be one Success is not measured by heights attained but by obstacles overcome. It never hurts to speak and have a smile for everyone. Everyone should have four qualities: a Smile, a tear, a thought and a wish. Candy is dandy, but liquor is quicker. It is not only the most difficult thing to know oneself, but the most inconvenient one, too. To avoid criticism: do nothing, say nothing, be nothing. Is it true blondes have more fun? A person with many friends will never be alone. Errors like straws upon the surface flowg he who would search for pearls must dive below. Happiness makes up in height for what it lacks in length. People who know all the answers haven't asked all the questions. The dream of yesterday is the hope of today and the reality of tomorrow. If it's true that geniuses die young, I could live forever. Character is what you are in the dark. Without sadness there could be no true meas- ure of happiness. I use not only all the brains I have, but all I can borrow. Wine, women and song. Much of the latter, little of the former, and even less of what's left. I have made only one mistake in my life... that's when I thought I was wrong. I'm not lazy...I'm just tired of making pro- gress. It is better not to be than to be unhappy. No man becomes bad all at once. A gir1's chief asset is a man's imagination. There is a difference between good sound reasons and reasons that sound good. Though the world may Smile on you blandly, pursue your goal, achieve it grandly. I'll find a way or make one. One oy is a boyg two boys are half a boyg three boys are no boy at all. You only live once, so make it worthwhile. Sincerity and truth are the basis of every virtue. Only man among living things says prayers or needs to. Do it..Prevent latent talent. To be a leader shows characterg to be a fol- lower shows the typical teen-ager. The best way to learn is by making mistakes. It was the best of timesg It was the worst of times. Highlights of the season included an exciting 71-67 victory over Poland and a 65-59 victory over Dolgeville, both in very good team effort. The Hornets' sparkplugs were three seniors, Harley Ruppert, Preston MacDiarmid and Bernard Charney. High scorers were Ruppert with 258 points and MacDiarmid with 248 points. Leading rebounder was Gary Pfendler and leading assistor was Ruppert. Preston MacDiarmid was captain. lk :mum fp': Row I: R. Brucker, L. Myers, J. Row II: V. Faduski, L. Vicks, R. W. Andrews, This year the Junior Varsity, under the supervision of Mr. Schatzle, finished their season with a record of 8 wins and 10 losses. The record, however, does not reflect the way the team played. The team split and swept with all its home and home league opponents except Oriskany. Of the lO losses, 8 were by a margin of 5 points or less and all of these were tied with a minute or less to go. This was a team that started slow and finished fast, unfortunately, not fast enough in some encounters. John Miga, Robert Dustin, and Larry Myers were high point men for the Junior Varsity. The main objectives of the program are to pro- mote better sportsmanship, cooperation, and confidence among the girls through participation in sports. An all-star team, comprised of the best players is chosen from the intramural programs to compete with other schools. Under the expert coaching of Miss Hall, these teams have all been successful. The Association is a very active organization. hrough- out the year the members all work at their assigned jobs such as conducting dances or bake sales, and the sale of candy and coke at home basketball games.
