CLASS HISTORY Ccon'tJ The next year certainly will be remembered because the group was so large that you had two teachers, Miss Rosalie Ruchti and Mrs. Leroy Davis. You were sad, but time, hard work, and play healed your sorrow. Besides, going into the seventh grade, you were grown-up. You discarded the buttons and bows and you were interested in parties, boys and girls, passing classes, and, child- ren, your first experience with.men teachers. Remember Mr. Hughes and Mr. Bailey? You children, oops, young ladies and gentlemen, I mean, received some new friends in Bernie Penczek, Wynola Yager, Ruth Tuttle, Ruth Tuffey,Bruce Brooks, and Rosie Bickford. If I'm not mistaken, it was in that year Mr. Barraco became your advisor. The first sign of your high school years to come certainly showed up in eighth grade what with class parties, officers, and even a newspaper of your own. Remember the nCrusadern, with Helenjane the editor and Tom Kotary writing up all the fresh corn. Your class meetings, what a time you all had. Now you knew you were approaching high school days for you became ugrayn worrying over regents. Well, you thought you were something. Now you were Freshmen. You had your first public dance, The Fresh Frolic. What excitement and what a wonderful dance it was. But then that year was no different from the past except that for the first time since the sixth grade you were all together as one class again. No different in that all you have undertaken has been successful. I have never seen such excitement, such planning as went on in your Sophomore year. The Albany Trip, the Sophomore Hop, and Club lO. Remember how you lost Buzz Reed? Mr. Barraco found him between the capitol and the Memoria Q l ' ai. It seems that all I can recall is the very successful social calandar in your Junior year, beginning with the momentous event of deciding on the class rings.
