In addition, it marks the “final” chance we have to participate in the numerous activities offered, including the successful sports program as evidenced by this year’s Varsity Football team (5-1-1 at press time) and Girls’ Cross Country squad (9-1). Both were ranked in Morris County’s Top Ten. The interesting and diversified activities and special events included Spirit Week, Band Competitions, the Tailgate Party, field trips, Homecoming and Boon-ton’s first Community Day ever. We began the new decade, 1980, as freshmen to an unknown building, where we would eventually adapt and learn to function in conjunction with the school. Although we were fearful and bewildered by the new arrangements and options that high school offered, we had the initiative to take the challenge of dealing with the difficulties that would inevitably confront us. In turn, we found ourselves putting forth countless hours of our time in our studies and in non-scholastic activities, knowing that decisions in our future lay in store.
