Science The Science Department’s foremost objective is to orient students to live with science through reason and understanding. By means of textbook studies, laboratory facilities, and research problems, challenges arc presented to our young science explorers. Theoretical and practical applications are employed in Biology, Advanced Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Practical Science, General Science, and Earth Science classes. Virginia Cline Jean Herzo Fairleigh Dickinson University Douglass College Mathematics is one of the foremost sciences, since it is essential in the development of our physical environment. Headed by Miss Sophia Pavidis, Boonton High’s Mathematics Department offers the traditional courses of Algebra, Geometry and Trigonometry as well as vocational mathematics. In addition, the mathematically-gifted students arc given educational opportunity through the School Mathematics Study Group program. Courses presented by this department provide the students with understanding of the basic fundamentals of our number system and aid the students in meeting the demands of their chosen vocations.
