To Set the Spark Aglow: Assurance of The policy of Boonton Public Schools emanates from the Board of Education, which carries out State policy and those programs designed specifically for the Boonton School System. The Board is composed of nine prominent citizens, each serving a three year term. Their work is subdivided into four committees: Building and Grounds, Public Relations, Education, and Finance. Through co-ordinating and guiding our education, the Board strives for a literate and alert citizenry. SUPERINTENDENT ASSISTANT SUPERINTENDENT William Lowther Marshall A. Woodson Educational Growth and Supervision Superintendent William Lowther is the head administrator of the Boonton Public School System. Before moving to New Jersey, Mr. Lowther both taught and coached for fifteen years in Pennsylvania. He next served as principal for three high schools, and finally, he became superintendent in Glasboro, New Jersey. Mr. Lowther graduated from Thiel College, received his Masters degree at the University of Wisconsin, and is presently a candidate for his doctorate at Temple University. B.H.S. is particularly grateful to Mr. Lowther for his great interest in our youth. Mr. Marshall S. Woodson, a frequent visitor to B.H.S., served as a teacher, guidance counselor, principal, and supervisor in four school systems before coming to Boonton in 1961. Mr. Woodson also takes an active part in the National Polio Foundation, the placement office of Teachers’ College, Columbia University, and the Morris County Adult School. He received his ‘Bachelor of Science degree at Davidson College, his Masters degree at the University of North Carolina, and is presently a doctorate candidate at Columbia University. 17
