QneetinxiA. DOUGLAS M. BIVENS, Principal To the members of the staff, pupils, and teachers who have shared in the project of publishing this yearbook. I wish to congratulate you for completing such an excellent summary of our school activities. For the past six years many of you have had the opportunity to participate in a variety of learning experiences. The purpose of education in the Boons-boro High School may be summarized as follows: a. To prepare the individual to make a living and to make progress in his vocation, or to help in that process. b. To prepare the individual for mature and complete living — personal and family, social and civic — in today’s world: and to help develop the moral, ethical, and spiritual values which benefit both the individual and society. c. To increase man's understanding of the arts, sciences, and humanities, and his appreciation of his cultural heritage. Each day in your associations with classmates and teachers, you have seen and demonstrated by example the importance of Scholarship, Sportsmanship, and Service, which are the essential guideposts to the development of good citizens. 1 sincerely hope that our school has been able to meet most of your individual needs, and that because of your educational training received at B.H.S. you are fully prepared to meet the challenge of the future. The faculty, at all times, stands ready to render you any help or assistance you may desire. 2
