I, Kathy McKenna, will the job of rolling up the sidewalks in Hardy to Bev Cathcart since there's not much hap- pening by the time she gets home at night anyway. I, Gary Meyers, will my car to Julie james to ride to school in since that's what she's been doing this year. I, Curt Palmer, will the control of our neck of the woods to Janelle Tate in hopes that she can have as much fun there. I, Mardell Pederson, will my ability to cry to Sandy Deppe and I hope that it works for her as well as it has for me. I, Bruce Pergande, will, my ability to get along without a license to Susan Burk. U U I, Dan Rundle, will my unmatched athletic accomplishment to Jim Schipull since I didn't want to give him anything anyway. I, Mary Stevenson, will my violin to Donna Will because I think she's got a good chin for it. I, Richard Thompson, will my starting position in BB to Gary Roseberry so he doesn't have to sit on the bench again next year. l, Wayne Veeder, will my uncanny ability to disrupt class to the Juniors so they may continue to irritate the teachers as I have done. I, Larry Woodley, will my trips to Clarion to Fred Hefty since he'll be looking to other towns pretty soon anyway. CLASS PROPHECY The year of 1969, which current world figures say could be the greatest year in the Twentieth Century. Over a year has elapsed since the class of 1968 'yes, the ones with the spray paintj tearfully and with a sigh of regret, left their beloved high school. The community of Renwick, Boone Valley Schools, and our usually cheerful Mr. Sinek shed a tear at the thought of this outstanding group of future citizens leaving the town to find greener pas- tures. Rumor has it that even our blood and thunder policeman, Barney, had to leave the Commencement exer- cises to keep the public from seeing the mist in his eyes as he recalled the now-gone thrill of chasing down the braver member of the group, who in some wild sprees, honked their horns at 10 O'CLOCK AT NIGHT! ! t Now, a year later, a few members of the class of '69 have decided to spend their skip day looking up their' old schoolmates. The scene is Alkatraz Island. As you know, this island prison, has been closed for lack of busi- ness and also for security reasons, but the graduation of the class of '68, it was forced to re-open for obvious reasons. Once again Alkatraz can flourish as the most crowded prison in the world. And not only does the class of '68 completely dominate the total enrollment here, but some of the more illustrious members are in charge of running the prison. Because of his great leadership qualities Dave Berkenes is the warden of this happy live haven. Dave chose Rick Thompson as his highest assistant, with these two in charge it is really the high office. Since we have traveled quite a distance, we are tired and thirsty and asks about the possibility of having something to eat and drink. Dave informs us that the only place for snack is the prisoner's bar. We proceed to the bar and find the greater part of the class of '68 seated at the bar or at the tables place. It doesn't take us long to figure out the Veed's Vandals are having their meeting now. As it always was, Wayne is the President. All of a sudden somebody jumps down off his bar stool, staggers over to us and says hi ! Why, it's Dave Gimer. As soon as he leaves, a member of our party steps over to the bartender, Larry Wood ley, by the way, and asks him what in the world Dave had to drink. Oh, just a shot of milk, says Larry. Don't worry about him, though. As soon as he gets home and gets a cold shower he'll be all right. A clamor for another round of milk breaks off our conversation. Larry looks questioning down the bar to Mark Hansen- Have you got enough left, Mark? drawls Larry. Yeh, I got all the stuff around here, Mark replies. Well, then set 'em up replies Baby Face Palmer. Let's have a BIG party just like in the good old days! I'm for it, if I can stay in your cell tonight, Palmer, replies Pretty Boy Hebe. Sounds all right to me , echoes Dan Rundle, the real brains of the outfit. As the mugs tip us, the music starts to play and Sharon, the only girl member of the notorious club, takes the floor and goes into her act. Someone seems to be missing from this gay crowd, however. Of course, it must be Moby Bruce. We inquire about him and find that he has become the Prison Chaplain and his motto has recently become, Deliver us from Evil! Time has been flying and we realize we must say goodbye to this old group of comrades and move on through- out the prison. Moving on we see Bonny and Clyde, or more commonly known as Norm and Vicky, sharing the honeymoon suite, reminiscing old times. Too bad THEY didn't notice US! ! 71
