CLASS HISTORY The class of 1968 descended upon the unsuspecting faculty's of Vernon and Renwick schools in the school ear of 1955-1956. Y Those of us who began our education at Renwick were: Dennis Amerson, David Berkenes, Sharon Erdman, David Gimer, Paul Gimer, Mark Hansen, Randy Hansen, David Hebner, Ioan Helmich, Vikcy Helmke, David Hoffman, Jeff Lane, Patricia Matteson, Kathy McKenna, Curt Palmer, Bruce Pergande, ang Rick Trhlpmpson, Marcia Anderson, Anne Clowes, Becky Klasse, Norman Marty, Mary Stevenson egan at ernon. ose joining us in later years include: Skip Anderson, Gary Meyers, Mardell Pederson, Dan Rundle, Kathy Thompson, Wayne Veeder, and La Woodley. During our ffghman year, we received straight I's at the music contest. Mary Stevenson-President, Sharon Erdman-Vice President, joan Helmich-Secretary, and Donna Palmer-Treasurer, served as our class officers. Our sophomore year, filled with the usual events, was highlighted by our football team being the North Star Conference Champions. Dave Gimer-President, Dave Berkenes-Vice-President, Anne Clowes-Secretary-Treasurer and Pat Matteson-Student Council Representative, were our class officers. As juniors, we worked very hard all year to raise money for the Junior-Senior Banquet, The Enchanted Castle. Our Homecoming float, Booned Blazin' to Victory won first place. In November, we presented the play, TIGER HOUSE. Our class officers were: Dave Berkenes-President, Paul Gimer-Vice-President, Anne Clowes Secretary, and Mary Stevenson-Treasurer. We found our Senior year to be the most exciting and busy. Our officers were Dave Berkenes-President, Paul Cimer-Vice-President, Mary Stevenson-Secretary, and Anne Clowes-Treasurer. The boys' basketball team was North Star Conference Champions. In the spring we were entertained by the juniors at the prom. The theme was Roman Holiday . We presented three one-act plays: The Ghost Story , The Boar , and The Little Red Schoolhouse. We spent Skip Day at Fort Defiance State Park, Arnolds Park, Stubs Ranch Kitchen and a movie. The year ended with Senior Breakfast, Baccalaureate, and Commencement. CLASS WILL I, Dennis Amerson, will my countless hours in the shop to Tom Eekhoff and Craig Erwin in hopes that they will also become ace mechanics. I, Dwight Anderson, will the Editorship of the school paper to Louise Nelson in hopes that she can write the Dear Abby Column better than I. I, Marcia Anderson, will my quiet ways to Roxanne Barracks. Rox, you just talk too much. I, David Berkenes, will a copy of my book How to win at BB , to Shirley Prillip and Debby Schneider. Study it well girls. I, Anne Clowes, will my captainship in BB to Marilyn Espe. I hope that you can control the girls on the bench as well as I did. I, Sharon Erdman, will my stpaight hair to Sandy Arne so she doesn't have to spend so much money on straight set. I, David Gimer, will my trips to LuVerne to Jeri Erdman, since Bob hardly ever comes over here. I, Paul Gimer, will my ability to get along with Mr. Sinek to Joni May so she can wear even shorter skirts next year to school. I, Mark Hansen, will my car to Jim Poutre so he may carry on our trips to Eagle Grove next year. I, Randy Hansen, will my ability to get along with good ol' dad Lookingbill to Kirk Swanson so football will be more enjoyable to him next year. I, David Hebner, will my hatred for skin head haircuts to David Anderson. I, joan Helmich, will all the fun I've had in my senior year to Colleen Sander. I, Vicky Helmke, will my ability to hang on to a guy for a long time to Ellen Shurson and Sandy Schipull, so they can feel the security that I have. I, David Hoffman, will to David Trask the job of being the main stay of the football line. I, Becky Klasse, will my good fortune of an early engagement to Vicky Sobek although she apparently doesn't need my help. I, Jeff Lane, will my love for track to Jim Carlson. I don't know of anybody else that wants it. l, Norman Marty, will my wit, charm, '63 Chevy to Jim Lerdal because he could put them all to use. We, Pat Matteson and Kathy Thompson will the BB medical kit and the job of cleaning the orange juice jar to Donna Martin and Rose Nelson. 70
