They were able. by being in second place in the Sectional Tournament, to advance to District play at Clear Lake. The girls won their first game with little difficulty but were de- feated in the next two games. This left the Bobcats with the fourth position in the District com- petition. The great determination of the team helped them to advance. They played well together, and showed good sportsmanship throughout the season. The basketball coaches of the North Stat Conference singled out three of our girls for honors. Dave Clowes led the team in the total number of points scored. Terry Nerem placed second in the high hurdles and fourth in the low hurdles at the North Star Con- ference track meet. Boone Valley participated in the following track meets: Pocahontas Relays - Pocahontas North Star Conference Meet - Belmond Triangular Meet - Dows District Meet - Eagle Grove The 1962 Bobcats improved school records in the 880 yard relay and the mile relay.
