Friday, a young man of our community. While serving his duty in the armed forces of his country, he contacted chronic leukemia. The last seven months of his life he give himself to medical research. During this time doctors tried various new drugs and experiments to find a cure for the fatal disease of leukemia. PLEASANTFIELDS FARMS Renwick , Iowa 7a 7fKrywa77Ze'!!4 Sunday, June 20, 1959, the Renwick Community was deeply saddened by the sudden death of Myrna Rae Mills, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. George Mills. An autopsy showed her passing was caused by the bursting of an aorta artery. Having just comple.ted her sophomore year she was very active in school and church. Her friendly personality and smile along with her enthusiastic willingness toward all she attempted and did will never be forgotten by her family, friends, and fellow students. CORNER STORE Renwick, Iowa Lloyd Swanson STANDARD OIL TANK MAN Renwick, Iowa S 'e TO THE CLASS OF 1960: You have just completed another step up the ladder of life. On this trip he has decided to look up former classmates. In Chicago we find that one of the clty's major hospitals is being turned upside- down by three fun-loving nurses. Marilyn Lerdal, Janet Martin, and Martha Trask. Rich Nissen lives in Indianapolis, the home of the famous 500 mile race, where he designs noisy cars for each Memorial Day. Fashion Guide of America, edited by Iudy Skiye, has just won this year's award as the best new magazine in the New York area. The magazlne's top model, Barb Kamp, can be seen on the cover of practically every leading magazine in the nation. Sharon Kraft is always busy keeping Barb's appointments straight. X No one goes to New York without a side trip to Greenwich Village, the beatnik capital of the world. As we enter one of the Vil1age's famous coffee houses who do we see but Lynn Darland. Do you recognize the bearded, poetry-reading beatnik? Of course, it's Ron Nerem. Two of the former graduates are in television. Judy Gillespie is a regular come- dienne on the Steve Allen Show and Donald Johnson plays the accordion on IUBILEE, U. S. A. On the way south our flight has a stopover in Atlanta. As we step off the plane we see the crowd gathered around a platform. Ierry Tjelle is delivering an inspiring speech ln his campaign for the leading presidential candidate, Dave Mandsager. ln sunny Florida we stopped at the winter quartets of Ringling Brothers Bamum and Bailey Circus. There we find Larry Cameron training elephants in preparation for the show 's spring opening at Madison Square Garden. Brasilia, the new inland capital of Brazil, is boasting about its eight sided civic center designed by world architect, Ton Bott Bottln. Now our tour takes us to London to the music of Ken Friday and his band who are ap- pearing at the London Palladium. Sharon Riley has been raising Drummers for Ken's band. One of the United States' prominent nuclear scientists, Paul Heggen, is in Russia demonstrating the ability of the American driver. In tum the Russians are showing Paul BURK'S D-X Renwick, Iowa PETE SADLER D-X TANKMAN Renwick, Iowa through the salt mines in Siberia. Here to his surprise, he finds Jim Weyer managing one of the mines. On to Africa where the beat of native drums announces the arrival of Darold McKenna He has just begun his fourth expedition to the center of the Dark Continent. New 4-H clubs are being organized in India by Imogene Heggen. Through her work 400, 000 new members have joined 4-H. Australian teenagers are dancing to the music of American rock'n'roll singer, Doug Huntley, appearing in Me1bourne's civic auditorium. Aboard a ship we see two WAVES, Anne Huschka and Linda Engstrom, saying sayonara to Japan as they leave on another tour of duty. we are now headedfor Canada to see the country's latest pro football hero, Doug Rose berry. Sharon Zentner has been our stewardess for this whole trip around the world. At home again, we find Delores Oberhelman Clowes busy with her duties as a house wife. She and her husband have just returned from a cattle buying trip to the West. The football team opened up the season in a manner similar to that of a giant-killer, thor- oughly runnlng over a game Titonka team. However, there was a lapse in their play during their next two games. The Bobcats struck back and scored a great moral victory over the Irish of Emmetsburg Catholic, and finished up the season playing inspired ball while compiling a 4-4 record. The boys' team opened the season splitting the first four games in the won-lost column. Then it seemed as though the roof literally fell in and the boys went into a tailspin only to come up fighting, winning an inspiring victory over a fine LuVerne team. The season was marked with ups and downs as it seemed the team just could DOI maintain their winning ways. 40 Kanawha 24 65 LuVerne 43 41 LuVerne 51 36 Corwith-Wesley 51 51 Crystal Lake 46 47 Crystal Lake 60 37 Franklin Cons. 80 35 Goldfield 56 28 Corwith-Wesley 63 '77 Gilmore-Brad. 62 34 Goldfield 42 61 Stanhope 82 38 Pocahontas 54 61 Alexander 35 50 Dows 42 68 Burt 51 LITTLE NINE BV 32 Goldfield 51 SECTIONAL TOURNAMENT BV 43 Prairie View 34 BV 48 Rockwell City 49 ARNE MOTOR SALES Renwick, Iowa COCA-COLA BOTTLING CO.
