S OPHOMORE C LASS HIST ORY Here we are! We landed as twenty-six Freshmen in Capron, September 1946. The first few days were hectic ones, and thus provided some fun for the others in school. We soon got settled but then came initiation when more laughs were created at our expense. The first year we chose as our leaders: President, Katherine Meier, Vice-president, joan Stoufferg Secretary, Phyllis Hawley, Treasurer, joan Goodall. Our class advisor, Miss Morris, left at the end of the year. Genevieve Molthen and Carl Masear left us during the year. Time marches on! 1947! We are no longer green Freshmen but full fledged Sophomores. This year we were joined by Lewis Anderson, Gene Ball, john Bond, james Giesecke, and Ruby Sieler, making twenty-nine in our class. We chose Miss McGee as our class advisor. President, john Bond, Vice-pres- identg Paul Nordvigg Secretary, Katherine Meier, Treasurer, Ronald Seaver. October 3, we held an initiation party for the Freshmen. We earned money by selling magazines, we also had a turkey raffle in November, and a bake sale in the spring. We are a very jolly class and have enjoyed our first two years of high school. We are looking forward to having more enjoyrnent in out last two years at Capron High School. FRESHMEN CLASS HISTORY On the morning of September 3, 1947, forty-nine Freshmen stepped through the doors of Capron High School to begin their high school career. In a short time they realized that high school was quite a bit different from grade school. Then the big day of October 3 came and the Sophomores initiated the Fresh- men in royal order. That night the Freshmen were requested to attend a party held in the school gym. A good time was had by all at the expense of the Fresh- men. Our class advisor is Mrs. Ellingson and our class officers are as follows: President, Phyllis johnson, Vice-president, Larry Meyer, Secretary, Audrey rieastg Treasurer, june Dunker. To raise money we sold magazines and held several cake raffles. On February 9, 1948, we held a return party for the Sophomores at the Fox Skating Palace in Belvidere. Our Freshmen year in high school has been very successful and we plan on having another good year when we are Sophomores.
