Boys' GQ'lll Club The Boys' Gym Club under the supervision ot' Mr. Cole is very popular with the Stronger sex. The club members take part in competitive sports. such as basketball and volleyball. The boys especially enjoy exercises, drills. and relays, Radio Club Learning the facts about radio is the object of the Radio Club. Under the guidance of Mr. Mclntyre these boys ap- ply their knowledge in building and re- pairing radios. ATIU. Art Club The Art Club. sponsored by Mr. VVatson. is an activity which meets twice a week. This year's work has depended upon the ability and interest of each student. Typical of original projects are: clay sculpture. fashion drawing, ad- vertising. arts and crafts. The ambition of our artists is to be represented in the Iowa High School Art Exihibition at the State University of Iowa. Arts and Crafts The Arts and Crafts Club, which meets every other week. turns out many fine and useful products such as shelves. boats, belts, and desks. Under the guid- ance of Mr. Robinson, the members have visited many of the enterprising in- dustries of Boone. The club has a mem- bership of sixteen boys and five girls. Speech Club Interpretative reading. monologues. and one-act plays- their casting. directing and character portrayal-have been the goal of Miss Lambs speech groups. The mem- bers have presented plays for many of Boones Civic gr- ganizations. Another important speech activity is Debate. The team. composed of Owen Fitzsimmons. Robert Mickle, Betty Lou Rice, and Florine Wheeler, worked on the question: Resolved that every able bodied male citizen of the United States should have one year of military training before attaining the present draft age. IQ!- 'X ta- B -Y- Ettes This impressive candle light service marked an initiation into the B-'1'-Ettes. This girls' club meets every other Wednesday. the sixth period. at the Y.W.C.A. The officers for this year were: VVanda Piper, president: Saralyn Wyler, vice- presidentg Alyce Nicholson. secretary: lVIaralyn Beal. treasurer. Mrs. Fay Davis is the sponsor of the group. '95
