Jerry Deters congratulates Rick and awarded him with a tive hundred dollar scholarship. Being a woman in the midst of one hundred eight men can be precarious. Such is the position of Susan McEvoy, '60, who is the first and only woman in the University of Kentucky College of Dentistry. There are times when it seems as if the week will never end and the weekend will never come. When the fun is over, however, the good student is ready to meet the challenge of the new week and the task of preparing for what lies ahead. The success that we will enioy in the future will depend in part on what we are able to take from our secondary years' training. In this day and age, we must gather far more knowledge than did our parents and bear in mind that the pursuit of academic knowledge is of primary importance. Success . . . An English major, she augments her training through work as Associate Editol for the school's magazine and participation on other school publications.
