Teachers and students practiced principles and ideals of American democ- racy in the class room to give experience in patriotic and democratic living. Students of the American Studies class gained a broader concept of American cultures through lectures given by in- structors and resource persons in the areas of music, art, architecture, ed- ucation, religion, and philosophy.
