We are gathered here in the beautiful Rose Room of the DeCoudreaux Plaza Hotel formerly The Waluhaje Apartments to honor and dedicate a Placque to Mr. Ralph Williams for outstanding contributions in the field of Human Relations, and as President of that great organization, The N, A, P. E, QNational Association For thePreservation of Equalityg Yes, this is a great night forMr, Williams, all his former class mates of the graduating class of 1957, and close friends of the present are here to pay tribute to this great Humanitarian, There are three beautifully decorated tables for the distinguished guests. This Gala Affair is being brought to you by Personalscope, fModern version of Televisionj, so let us get our roving cameras in action, and meet some of these important people. We will start with table number one. TABLE ONE Mr. Ralph Williams, President N. A, P, E, Honored Guest, Mrs. Zeda Byrd, America's foremost beautician, and two of her most famous hair stylists, Lillie Ruth Middlebrooks and Cennie Releford, Camilla Foster, Personalscope Producer, and owner of Station D C F is sitting with Lucille Walker, America's new Marian Anderson, and Mrs. Walker's business managers, Leola Stephens and Jessie Mae Simpson. L, T. Adams, I am sure you rememberhim. He was CO Pilot on the first flight to the moon, He always looked to the future. Seated next to Adams, Alvin Washington, Navigator, and Patricia Hill, Nurse, on flight, and three passengers, Edward Brown, Eula B. Luke, and Rosa Thomas. These three paid their fares back in '57, Bessie Flemister, Lucille Wood, Minnie Yearby and Jacqueline Wilson, are teachers in California. James Welch, is getting a big laugh out of the crowd - still witty as ever but nevertheless, heir to the millions of Welch's Pineapple Plan- tations. Seated next to Welch is Oscar Romans, Pastor of Romans Baptist Tabernacle, and Bibical Instructor at Gammon Theological Seminary, and Helen Favors, second Lady of the Theater, who was a big success in the revised version of Carmen Jones. Willie Milner, Former Jet Test Pilot, new President of UNITED SPACEWAYS, Sitting opposite Milner. Grandmother, and Dean of Women at Clark College, Sally Carmichael, Ruby Allen, English In- structor, at the same school, and Mamie Hill. Mamie worked for Rich's Inc. so long that she saved enough money to buy the place. She changed the name to Hill's House of Fashions . She is wearing one of her most beautiful creations! Opposite Mrs, Hill, Eleanor Davis, Ollie Ford, Laboratory Technicians at McLendon Hospitalg Mrs. Susie Riley, and Mandy Tolbert, Pratical Nursesg Annie White, EllenMarie Johnson, and Johnnie Lee Walker, Personnel, N, A, P. E. Mrs. Montina Brown owns her own restaurant now - Ye Candle- light Si Wine . She cooked such delicious food, that she decided to go in business for herself, and the profits are proving that she was right. Sitting next to Mrs. Brown, none other than Betty Bradford, most talented dancer of the class of '57, Dance Director of her own World Famous, Bradford Studios . She will perform for us tonight to the music of that ever loving Atomic Cat, Allen Murphy, and his Nuclear Fissions. And now the Roving Cameras take us to table number two. rm!-Ugg., A l TABLE TWO And here at table number two, we have more important people. Leroy Young, X-Ray Technician at Crawford W, Long Hospital. Seated with Mr. Young, Florence J. Gates, and Nellie Lee Ivey, two of Georgia's finest Interior Decorators. Catherine Delores Lennon, Nurse and Stenographer, and Emma Mary Maddox, Gospel Singer, Frank Rosson, World's greatest Athelete, he couldn't have made it without the help of Betty Williams.Sitting opposite Mr, Rosson, Lois Fuller, Superintendent, Atlanta Public School System, and Melvin Peek, Technician in Chemical Engineering. We have quite a few Stenographers, and Secretaries from some of our leading Business Administrations! Clare Thomas, Mrs, Josephine Ponder Denson, Rollie Mae Stevens, Rosia McClendon, and two others from famous schools, Rosa M. Askew and Esther Williams. Mrs. Della McGriff, Authority on Beauty Culture, is seated with some very well known people, they are: Reather Williams, Lieut. Womens Police Patrol, Codella Flemister, famous Lady Barber: Charles Martin, Mechanic, Ford Motor Company, Thelma Parker, Beauticiang Leo Peek, Optician, and Alice Glover, Clerk-Typist, Doris Nell Thomas, Musician, Philadelphia Philharmonic Orchestra, Seated with Miss Thomas, Lucille Summers, Dress Designer SAK'S FIFTH AVENUE, NEW YORK, Inez Leslie, Nurse and Seamstressg Lennon N, Feariby, Mechanic, Annie B. Dismuke, Nurseg Harold Chestnut, Physics Scientist. And last but not least table number three. TABLE THREE Seated here are more important guests, Martha DeCoudreaux, Manager of the beautiful DeCoudreaux Plaza Hotel - also Stylist, Bessie Easley, Pianist, Atlanta Symphony Orchestra, Jonnie Mae Goss, Missionary to South Africa, Charlie J, Boykin, Scientist, Bio- Chemical Laboratories. Morriscene Thomas, a whiz in Algebra, Algebra Instructor at University of Southern California. Seated next to Mrs. Thomas, Wilma Bolton, Designer, Edythe Adkins, Social Worker. Fulton County Welfare Department, and Nellye Simmons, Registered Nurse, Betty Thurman is owner of a chain of Day Nurseries, also Chief Dietitian at John Hopkins Hospital. Sitting with Miss Thurman, Dorothy Watts, Annie R. Waters, Typist and Grace Johnson, Secretary. 4-5
