In later years, when we look back on these four years, it will not be with the sadness that we feel now, so near graduation. We will remember it as the happiest peroid of our lives, our school days. Remember when we entered high school? We were a promising group of students, even if we were as green as grass and so awed by it alL During our freshman year we weren’t very active as a class. We were trying to get used to high school life. We were a big class of one hundred seventeen and our class officers were Gay Yount, president; Mary Ann Hartegan, vice-president; Vickie Roweth, secretary; and Carol Sue Bundy, treasurer. As sophomores we were just getting used to the active routine of high school. The class officers for that year were Shirley Bush, president; Geroge Wendt, vice-president; Mary Hauetter, sec- retary; and Bob Frey, treasurer. Then all of a sudden we were upper classmen. We were right there in the middle of activities. We had to start raising money for the Prom -- we wanted it to be the biggest and best. Some of the money raising projects that we had were a pancake breakfast, sock hop, car wash, bakesale. Our Junior Play “Curious Savage,” helped swell our prom fund. However, the juniors didn’t just work that year. There was a certain group of juniors who painted the town red (red ‘59’s, that is). Our class officers were Bob Frey, president; Gary Slick, vice-president; Martie Kuhn, secretary; and Shirley Bush, treasurer. Carol Sue Bundy was our representative to Girls’ State, George Wendt and Jim Reynolds were the representatives to Boys’ State. Now we are seniors and are at the peak of activities. Some of the seniors are making plans to take a trip to New Orleans. They will be sponsored by some of the parents. The seniors presented “The Family Nobody Wanted” for our play. We have sold subscriptions to magazines, had a turkey dinner, sold Chieftains, etc. There will be approximately seventy-seven graduating seniors walking down the long aisle on May 28th. There’s a lot to remember and those listed here will probably bring other enjoyable events to mind for each of us. 35 JUNIORS Lennis Adair Willis Thomas Janice Barnard Judy Bateman Kenny Beach Gary Coaches Gorsky and Tewell, for rigorous practice sessions. Although they lost a number of lettermen through graduation, the relatively inexper- ienced team established a respectable re- cord for the 1958 season. OFFICERS TREASURER Jim Reynolds PRESIDENT Lanny Jones VICE-PRESIDENT Alvin Knight SECRETARY Bernice Gilbert The purpose of the Student Council is to carry out projects to aid die school and student body. One of the Student Councils major responsibilities is supervising all of the school’s func- tions. StuCo adopted as one of its major aims the improvement of the school's appearance. This was accomplished by, clean up the campus, and dress up the students campaigns. Pennants and sweatshirts were sold to raise money to help purchase a football scoreboard. CARE and MARCH OF DIMES drives were held. Approximately 900 pounds of food were sent to needy nations with StuCo's backing of die projects. 68 PEP CLUB During football and basketball season, the student body - always on guard - watches a group of girls in orange and black uniforms. These mis- chievous girls are members of the Bonner High Pep Club. The reason for this preconception of ideas is because NO ONE knows what the Pep Club will do next. All of the members have been expecially busy and active this year, because their goal was to boost school spirit. During their pep rallies, pep assemblies and other surprises, they showed the teams they were behind them. The girls also improved their own club by having many money making projects, which naturally expanded their treasurery. With the money they re- ceived, they gave a semi-formal dance, a party, and donated a clock for use in the gymnasium. An organization with the sole purpose of supporting our team has now become an organization with high scholastic, social, and moral traits.
