CLASS PROPHESY (The following is an article appearing in the June 15, 1981 edition of the Kansas City Star.) There will be a not time in the old town this week, June 17-24, 1981, which marks the first reunion of the class of '51 of dear old Bonner High. Many of the Classmates have arrived in town and the remainder will be here by the first of the week. The reunion will be held in the new ultra-modern clubhouse of the Lake of the Forest Club. Tom Klotz, president of the club and chairman of the event, says all is in readiness for the event. The clubhouse, a show place of the state, was recently com- pleted by the Wm. Vaughn and Robert Stoneking Construction Company. Lester Peoples was the architect for the new building, and the interior decorating was done by the Susie Q. Decorating Company owned by Sue Brown and Mille Sue Peters. Guests will be greet- ed in front of a large mural depicting the history of the class, painted by the famous team of artists, Glen Wilcox and Marilyn Christain. The entertainment committee composed of Rita Schultz, Georgene Mackey, Bessie Gomez and Bertrice Davis, with Margaret Hicks as chairman have secured a fine pro- gram for the week’s festivities. They were fortunate in having such a large number of classmate celebrities to choose from. Martha Yelton, noted T. V. singer, will be the star of the show. Jean McKenzie manager of Powers Model Agency, has promised to be on hand with some of her famous models, and Alice Gunderman will do several numbers of her well known dance routine. The committee also has been promised by Lester Bur- ris, New York agent, that a special act of the hit play of Broadway this year, starring Sally Wasson, produced by Ruth Klamet, and directed by Mary Hanfelt will give a com- mand performance. While waiting for the rest of his classmates to arrive, Charles Hutson says that although he did not win the 500 mile Memorial Day Race, he did set a new speed record by auto between Indianapolis and Bonner. With Charles on the trip were Gary Leach, owner of the G. A. L. Truck Lines, and Woods Peters, famous postal inspector. Probably the classmate who had the most difficult time attending the reunion was Henry DePriest. Henry is an athletic instructor in the U. S. Army. Ted Satterfield and Robert Tichenor, flew in for the event from Los Angeles, where Ted heads a large accounting firm and Robert is Maintenance Manager of the Hollywood Airport. They stopped over in Cheyenne long enough to pick up Ted Stolfus, Western Horse Breeder, and Orrin Dunhan, champion rodeo performer. Bill Rehm, Mary Ruth McKee, and Herb Lee also were among the early arrivals in town for the reunion. Mary is Professor of Home Living at Vassar College in the East; Bill is now Washington correspondent for the Associated Press and has a syndicated column which appears in newspapers throughout the country; Herby has recently been appointed director of the Elmer Farm Plan passed by the Ninety Seventh Congress. Senator Robert Elmer, author of the plan, is tied up in red tape and will not be able to get loose to attend the reunion, Herb said. Ray Reynolds, coach of the Notre Dame football team and his wife, the former Joyce Jackson, are supposed to arrive in town today. Other guests to attend the reunion who have not yet arrived are: Louise Bolton, owner of the chain of Bolton Barbeques; J. O. Reynolds, president of the Purina Feeds Mills; Viola Robbins and Mary Wallace; nurses at the Mayo Clinic; Richard Tice, public relations man for the A. F. of L. printers' union; Raphel Willians and wife, the former Shirley Ford; Mary Frances Ward, noted social worker from Chicago; and Alto Walters office manager of the Denver Plant of the LaBlanc Corporation, makers of Hadacol.
