CLASS HISTURY Four years ago, seventy-seven green and carefree freshmen embarked on a new adventure ln llfe by enterlng the Ivy Walls of Bonne Terre Hlgh School In September, 1954, we held our flrst class meetlng The purpose of the meetlng was to elect class offlcers Kathy Welgel was elected presldent, Delia Hare, vlce presldent, Barry House, secretary, Shlrley Magura, treasurer, and Neal Conrad, student councll representatlve Mlss Beula McQuary and Mr Henry Tessereau were our class sponsors Soon came the Mother's Club Carnlval, John Mllls and Shlrle Magura were elected our candldates for Klng and Queen Our float, The Months of t e Year, placed second Rosemary Brand and Pat Loewe were elected cheerleaders for the basketball season Connle Gwaltney was chosen our attendant to the Dlamond Drlll Annual Queen, Bob Branlng was her escort Our next great ste came the fOllOWlhQ ear, when we entered hlgh school as sopho mores First on the ca endar of events was c ass electron of offlcers Donna DeClue was elected presldent, Rosle Brand, vlce presldent, Dlane DeClue, Secretary, Della Hare, treasurer, and Peggy Hawkins, student councll representatlve Our class sponsors were Mrs Faye Lundmark and Mr Winferd Durham Blll Stotler and Ka Long were our candldates for Camlval Klng and Queen Our float was The Flghtlng Bull s ' Rosle Brand was chosen our cheerleader for basketball season Barry House was our delegate to the Sophomore Pllgrlmage ln Jefferson Clty Our attendant to the Annual Queen was Dlane DeClue, Kenneth Hom was her escort We chose to lead us through our lunlor year, Roger Weems, presldent, John Mllls, vlce presldent, Kathy Welgel, secretary, Barry House, treasurer, and Davld Radford, student councll representatlve Our class s nsors were Mrs Faye Lundmark and Mr Charles Smlth Jean Glenn and Stanfll Rad e were chosen our Mother's Club Camlval candldates Our float, B T H S Yearbook, won flrst place Peggy Hawklns was elected our cheer leader for the basketball season Our attendant to the Annual Queen was Dlane Creglow, she chose Ray Ward as her escort Ruth Ann Potashnlck was chosen to attend Mlssourl Glrls State, at Stephens College ln Columbla Roger Weems was chosen to attend MISSOUTI Boys State It was held at Central State College ln Warrensburg Peggy Hawklns was our Student Body Presldent In September, 1957, we entered the lvy Walls of dear old Bonne Terre Hlgh School for the last tlme Barry House was elected presldent of the class, Ruth Potashnlck, vlce presldent, Shlrley Magura, secretary and treasurer, and Roger Weems, student councll representatlve Mr Albert Kleeman and Mr Emmett Barnes were our class sponsors Our float, Stepplng Out Into the World, placed flrst, our candldates Donna DeClue and Neal Conrad, were crowned Mother's Club Carnlval Klng and Queen Peggy Hawklns and Rhonda Prlce were chosen our cheerleaders for our Senlor year MISS Della Hare was elected Dlamond Drlll Queen for 1958 Kathy Welgel was chosen attendant Della's escort was Barry House, and Kathy s was Mlke Kllllon Blll Stotler was our Student Body President Our Senlor Play, The Whole Truth, was a great success On Aprll 21, we headed South for our long awalted Senlor trlp The Junlor Senlor Prom Queen was Rosemary Brand Her attendants were Donna DeClue, Jean Glenn, Connle Gwaltney, and Kathy Welgel Our baccalaureate servlce was held on May 18 On May 23, commencement exerclses were held, and the class of 1958 became hlstory of the Bonne Terre Hlgh School 14 Q .Q iw, ' '
