Varsity Track Anticipates Another Undefeated Season Under the leadership of master trackster Chip Holmes, the varsity Barons emerged again in 1982 as the dominant force in Met- ro league track and field. Behind the efforts of a number of highly competitive individ- uals including Pat O'Rourke, Chris Courter, Phil Coles, Mike Whitt and Bob Archer, the track team anxiously anticipat- ed its ninth straight conference champion- ship. Evidence of the Baron track monopoly can be seen hanging on the walls of the gymnasium in the form of numerous Metro league and CIF banners. Holmes took his record and his team into CIF competition once again as they fared admirably well against the countyls best athletes. 182 Varsity Track
