is 1 The Barons celebrated Homecoming with a victory over the Southwest Raiders the following week, taking advantage of Southwests' poor playing and lack of confidence. Offense was consistent and powerful, easily breaking through the Raider defense. The Barons were next matched with Coronado, confident of a win. The first half was slow and never seemed to get off the ground for the Barons, yet in the second half Bonita moved forward to overtake the Islanders, 22-6. The season came to a close with a victory against the lVlar Vista lVlariners. The Barons who had improved greatly over the course of the season dominated both offensively and defensively, with the final score 14-3. Although Bonita Vista showed some excellent talent and good football techniques, they failed to capture a CIF berth. Yet with the new knowledge of their expectations and necessary goals to work toward, the '77 season should be an improvement and lead to another future championship team.
