4 r 5' he l l Wk., lAbove, leftl Mrs. Lyn Boice's favorite pastimes are fiossing her teeth and mowing the lawn. Her favorite high school activities were fire drills, football practice, and polishing the saddle oxfords. She attended the University of Arizona and received a BS in Math. She now teaches Life science, and Algebra I and II. Besides teaching she considers herself a Roller Derby Queen and a Pinball Wizard. She hopes to achieve immortality in her life and relates teaching to the phrase llWar is Hell . iAbove, rightl Mr, Thaine Simmonds, teaches Chemistry I and II. His education centered on Chemistry and Mathematics, having received his BS at Kansas State college and his MS at Wichita State University. CCenter left? Mr. Jim Pendleton enjoys golf, tennis, racquetball, and cars. Teaching Biology and life science has made him realize that perhaps one's schooling interferes with his education. He received his teaching credential from USIU in 1971. lCenter, middle? Mr. Peter Young teaches physics, calculus, algebra I, computer programming, and survey science. He insists that learning can be Ha student activity, not the passive absorption of facts presented by the teacher. He achieved his BA in Math from Rice University and an NIS in Physics from SDSU, 198 lMiddle, rightl Teaching all biology classes is Mr. Robert Bourquin. He attended Oregon State, San Francisco State, and others. Mr. Bourquin's foremost desire for life is to be a service to his fellow men. lOpposite page, above, leftl Mr. Bill Foley seeks to help each student reach his or her full potential. His college education consists of achieving a BS in Math and physical education at Baker University in Kansas and an MS at the University of Illinois, Now teaching Math Analysis, Algebra II, and consumer math besides coaching basketball and tennis, he enjoys playing tennis and camping. lOpposite page, above, rightl Mr. John Grand divides his time among being a hardworking basketball and baseball coach and teaching Geometry, Algebra 2, Consumer Math, and driver training. Through teaching he hopes to give the student something that will make him or her a better person. He now plays a neat game of tennis and likes being with his family. i L iOpposite page, lower leftl Mr. John Giles enjoys making models, crafts, working for teachers in the TCHR Organization, and working in religion. He teaches Math Analysis, Geometry, and Algebra I. He received his degrees by attending B Abilene Christian University, Trinidad University, and SDSU. Mr. Giles feels it is worthwhile to aid students in learning as much as they want to. He desires to be a faithful Christian, a better parent, husband, teacher, and American. l0pposite page, lower rightl Mr. Larry Fernandez keeps busy teaching Algebra I, Algebra II, and advanced metal-working, as well as working as the varsity football assistant and head coach. In college, he majored in mathematics and industrial arts while minoring in physical education, He wishes to develop good, aware, citizens and to be a good citizen himself following God's teachings. He is currently interested in dining out and musical or live entertainment.

C0pposite page, lower left? Mrs. Beryl Mealy enjoys her family and church. In her spare time she knits, sews, and reads. Besides teaching family life she is a registered nurse. At San Diego State University she acquired a B.S. in health science and an M.A. in health and safety, and an M.S. in counseling. C0pposite page lower right? Mr. Robert Harrinton teaches U.S. Government and U.S. History. He attended the University of Omaha and Nebraska. fUpper leftl Mr. Robert West hopes that through learning the students will become more interested in people around them. With a B.A. in Science and minors in English, Sociolgoy and P.E. from SDSU., he now teaches Sociology and coaches football and soccer. KUpper, middlel Mr. Dick Moomaw hopes to live for 100 years. His favorite high school activities were sports. Receiving his B.A. at Montana University he now teaches health-driver 200 5 E education. He wishes to instill an attitude of excellence and a sense of pride in all driving efforts. He takes pleasure in desert trips. lUpper right? Mr. Johnson wishes to assist students in being themselves and developing their abilities to exist in our world. He demonstrates his philosophy through teaching psychology, sociology, P.E. and being a coach. He went to California Western University and the University of New Mexico for three years. COpposite page abovelMrs. Sharon Leslie hopes to be able to look back over her life in old age and feel that her existence has been meaningful. She feels that school and its subject matter should be a means to learning to think and write analytically. She enjoyed writing on the paper staff in high school. Receiving a B.A. from the University of Oregon, she majored in history and minored in English She now teaches U.S. Government, U.S. History and psychology. In her limited spare time she reads, sews, and travels. A l l l 2 - if Q i 4 are . if lCenter, left? Mr. Ed Teagle believes in creating a pleasant atmosphere in which to work and learn. He expresses his ideas through ecology, where he projects a forceful message about the importance of environmental protection. He also shows superior qualities as a track coach. He has coached track for 22 years. He went to San Diego State College to earn his B.A. degree and he wants to be a good teacher and coach. CCenter, rightl Mr. Michael McCoy feels it is important to remember that we teach people, not things. He received a B.A. at SDSU. and now teaches California History and US History. He excelled in sports in high school and enjoys sports and camping. 4Opposite center left? Mr. Jim Wilson believes in understanding students and caring for them while still having good discipline. He teaches US History in 20th, and ecology. He attended the University of Redlands to earn his MA degree. He currently enjoys reading, bridge, and golf.
