Eugene Estes sneaks by the Nlar Vista line for a big gain BARONS CAPTURE FOURTH PLACE The lVletro-leagues fourth place was won by the Barons this year to make Bonita Vista the highest Metro-league winner for a first year school. This first season was a very important one, despite the fact we did not have a varsity team. We are all very proud to remember the first game Bonita Vista ever played, against Fallbrook. It was one of the most exciting games all season. During the first three quarters our team was held scoreless, but the Barons never gave up, with a quick driving effort in the fourth quarter our team gained thirteen D0intS in tW0 minutes to win the game by one point. Who said thirteen was an unlucky number? The whole SeaS0r1 was thrilling however, and all the games were exciting. Front Row-Mike Minkler, Don Cop- pock, Phil Coppock, Ed Chavez, Don Armstrong. Cross llou ntr Gregg Blair leads in track meet as Randy Clark and Mike Minkler come up fast. The dramatic climax of the 1966-67 Cross- Country season came when Bonita won two meets for the first time. Although the Barons were running against Juniors and Seniors all season they looked sharp. Headed by Gregg Blair, Most Valu- able Runner, the Cross-Country team has high hopes tor finishing on top next year. Mike Minkler crosses the bridge over the gul- ley with Clinton Hayes and Phil Coppock tol- lowing.
