. 3 X- Cliff Mello President I 'ff' Q . n F, Terry Bowers Secretary-Treasurer xii Kandie Newing Vice-President Bonita Vista has experienced an inter- esting and unique situation this year. lt was the only school in Chula Vista to have seventh through tenth grade. In spite of this awkward situation, the tenth graders seemed to head the school very efficiently. Cliff Mello, first Sophomore President, together with Kandie Newing, the Vice- President, and tenth grade Secretary-Treasf urer Terry Bowers, planned and organized the many school activities that were spon- sored by the tenth graders during all of last year. These student body officers established the Sophomore key and started the collection of future senior dues. Though our Junior Varsity was only composed of ninth and tenth graders, we proved to have had a very successful year in all the sports in which we competed. The tenth graders took on many of the seats in student government. A.S.B. Presi- dent, Doug Single, did an excellent job of starting off the school. Sophomores filled many of the offices for Commis- sioners, and also had representatives in the Senate, and the Assembly. Leading our school in spirit were Bar- bara Howard, Head Cheerleader, Kandie Newing, Assistant Head Cheerleader, Gale Speegle, Chris Miles, Terry Bowers, Linda Cowert, lan Alexander and Cheryl Gibson. With the guidance of the Advisor, Miss Kimball, the girls strived to generate and promote enthusiasm in all school activities throughout the student body. Without the help of Mr. Tomlinson and Mr. Schanke the sophomores would not have been such a great success.
