DECEMBER December proved to be a very busy month for most Bonita Bar- ons. Tying in with holiday prep- arations, was the Girls' League Baronial Ball held December 16. During this month, the official dedication for Bonita Vista High was held in the school gymna- sium. Students looked forward to a Merry Christmas and a jolly holi- day season. MARCH Highlighting March was Easter Vacation, which provided a wel- come relief from classrooms for both students and teachers. Spring sports such as tennis. golf, baseball, and track were in- troduced to BV students during this month. Other activities included a St. Patrick's Day Dance, a lollipop sale, and tryouts for Glee Club soloists. JUNE As the school year came to a close, it brought sighs of relief and anticipation of summer. On June 2, a dance was given which boosted Baron spirits during the last week of school. The year- books were distributed, and stu- dents had them signed by friends and teachers. The freshman class brought the year to an end with a dance on June ninth which proved to be a great success.

Pos- ters, signs, and witty slogans sur- rounded Barons as aspirants for offices campaigned for their posi- tions. The Barons initiated another lively tradition in the form of a Crazy Hat Day. From the weird and colorful assortment of head gear, a creation by E. Kaupplia was chosen as most original. 3 W9 Q N R! The Sock Hop was sponsored by the EX- CALIBUR staff. MAY Coming with the appearance of sunny skies above Bonita Vista was a more relaxed classroom at- mosphere. During the month of May, students and teachers both seemed to benefit from more in- formal discussions held during class. Our ASB officers contributed greatly to the spirit and morale of our school. The efficiency of our school government helped encourage students to participate more actively. New and different ideas were contributed for the benefit of Bonita Vista High. lt was a difficult iob developing our student government into a working organi- zation. However, the success of the ASB officers and the rest of the student body can be seen today through the progress of Bonita Vista. Heading Bonita's first student govern' ment, was ASB president Doug Single. Second in authority was John Buttitta, vice-president. Sue Krzywicki, a ninth grader, served as our first ASB secretary. These three students did their best in helping Bonita Vista become the greatest school in the district. Officers for BVHS were not chosen until November 1. The reason for this delay was to give the students an opportunity to be- come acquainted before elections. Those who ran for an ASB office put up a vigor- ous and enthusiastic campaign. The effort exerted helped our government to progress. Bonita Vista QT A... .... . . ff' 'Wi -M
