Whale hunt Buses leaving --.....g- Lunch scene New people. New school. And a new way of life. When the 1966 school year commenced our eighth grade was given the opportunity to participate in making Bonita Vista an excellent high school.Their arrival was accompanied by a sense of spirit and an understanding eagerness to learn and enjoy a new type of school life -a kind of school life they would be proud of. This eighth grade was an impor- tant asset in sending Bonita Vista off with a good start. llllore than one-fourth of this boost was given by Bonita's largest class, the eighth grade. Through this year they proiected a challenging spirit while com- peting for recognition as a distinct class. The eighth graders have been recognized by the Associated Student Body as having the highest A.S.B. card sales at Bonita Vista High in 1966. Eighth graders were represented in the senate of the Associated Student Body by Danny Weinberger, Laura Switzer, Cindy Carnahan, Susan Swift, and David Arendt. Their determination, drive, and ambition helped to create a motivating force in the new Bonita Vista High School Senate. Being placed into a new high 'school takes maturity and understanding, even a little courage. It was realized that in order to make Bonita Vista an outstand- ing school, the underclassmen would have to conform to high school life. The stu- dent body felt that the eighth grade dealt with the obstacles as they arose. Together the class took great pride in developing Bonita Vista. Their support tired enthus- iasm at many events. This rising class speaks well for Bonita's future.
