W 5 'Tl Sophomore Class History On September 2 , 1958, twenty-eight Sophomores entered Bonesteel high school for a second year. Barbara Johnson moved after our first 9-weeks tests, leaving us with 27. The class officers for the Sophomore class are: President, Jerry Spltzenbergerp Vice-President, Kay Aisenbrey: Secretary-Treasurer, Jeanni Haischg and Student Council Representative, Bonnie Leslie. Mr. Mead and Mr. Backus are our class sponsors. Kay Aisenbrey and Dennis Jons were chosen to be King and Queen candidates to re- present the Sophomore class. Nine Sophomores are members of the band. Fourteen girls are in the A and B Glee Club. Vocal and Piano soloists going to Kimball are: Jeanni Haisch, Larry Schmitz, and Judy Joyce. Bonnie Leslie, Judy Joyce, and Jeanni Haisch were chosen A team cheerleaders. Nine boys went out for football and six are out for basketball. Eight of the Sophomores participated in Declamation. We, the Seniors of 1961 have just completed our second year of high school, and are willing to come back for two more years. Fresh man Class History On September 3rd, 14 Freshmen enrolled in the Bonesteel Public High School. On September 12th initiation was held, followed by Kangaroo Kourt in the evening. All Freshmen agreed that it was a lot of fun. The Officers are as follows: President - Connie Bentson, Vice-President - Marlene Schmitz, Secretary and Treasurer - Ruth Bailey, Student Council representatives are Connie Honner and Connie Bentson, Mr. Burian is our class sponsor. Gale Hoffman was the only Freshman out for football, and those out for basketball were, Wayne Klundt, Gale Hoffman and Ioe Davidson. Joe Davidson and Linda Connick were the King and Queen Candidates at the Carnival. Bonnie Mulford and Wayne Klundt were Homecoming King and Queen Representatives. Those who participated in Declam were: Linda Connick, who won Second in the Humorous Division, and Bonnie Mulford, Marlene Schmitz, Connie Bentson, Esther Balcom, and Connie Honner. Those in the Glee Club and Mixed Chorus are: Bonnie Mulford, Mary Dion, Connie Bentson, Connie Honner, Marlene Schmitz, and Esther Balcom. There are three in Band from our class and they are: Connie Honner, Connie Bentson and Linda Connick. Marlene Schmitz and Connie Honner are 2 of the B Team Cheerleaders.
