Sl IIIR MASS HISIIIRY On August 30, 1954, thirty green freshies knocked at the door of B. H. S. to gain admittance. The most important event of the year was initiation. With the beginning of the Sophomore year twenty five sophomores had reassembled for another school year. At the beginning of the second semes- ter Andrea Qualm and David Dummer left to enroll in other schools. Janice Brunmeier and Gene Miller enrolled for the second semester. Twenty-five juniors appeared for the school year. A short time later Shirley Lewis moved to Fairfax. The first money-making project of this year was the magazine drive. We sold refreshments at all home football and basketball games. Dino the Junior Class play was given April Z, under the direction of Miss Sutton. With the beginning of the Senior year Z1 seniors reappeared for another year of activity. The Class Officers for the senior year were: President, Sandra Haisch: Vice President, Gary Whiddeng Secretary-Treasurer, Phillis Schmitz. Vern Hermsen represented our class by winning excellent in the State Declamation in his junior year. Kathryn .Ions and 'Vern Hermsen were crowned King and Queen of 1957. Kathryn Jons, Arlo Mulford, Gary Whidden and Sandra Haisch represented us in local music contests. All of the boys were active in athletics during some of the years. Sandra Haisch was chosen D. A. R. Candidate. Our senior play Me and Shakespeare was presented Dec. 12. On March 27 and 28 we took a. chartered bus to Omaha for our sneak days. CLASS STATISTICS Class Flowers -Orchid. Class Colors - Rose and Silver. Class Motto - THE FOUNDATION IS LAYED-NOW TO BUILD. Atlthe close of this Senior year, we find ourselves looking through the doorway into the vast world of tomorrow. SENIOR CLASS WILL We, the Seniors of the class of 1958, being of sound health and mind after 12 years of school do hereby will the following achievements to our somewaht unfortunate underclassmen. I, Sandra Haisch, will my ability to lose minature footballs to my sister, Jeannie. I, Barbara Balcom, will my ability to wear tight skirts to Bonnie Leslie. I, Patty Schmitz, will my ability to collect big rings to Margaret Ann' Young. I, Goldie Rainwater, will my size to Patty McDonald. I, Lorrayne Klundt, will my ability to smoke cigars to Loren Sieth. I, Paul Vaughn, will my ability to fall asleep in government class to Carroll Anderson so he will be quiet. I, Eben Bailey, will my football ability to Duane Smizer so he will be a football hero. I, Jerald Applebee, will my amazing speed to my brother, John so he can chase Jeannie Haisch. I, Tom Snyder, will my ability to study and get good grades to Linda Peterson. I, Theon Wuest, will my ability to go steady with a college boy to Judy N Joyce so she can go with Ma1'1YI1- I, Kathryn Jons, will my numerous boy friends to Mary Jensen so she will have variety to choose from. I, Ruth Helmberger, will my ability to smile even when it isn't funny to Dennis Jons in hopes that he will cheer up. I, Bonnie Helmberger, will my ability to outline my government book to Gary Vogt so that he will be able to pass government next year. I, Janice Brunmeier, will my ability to stay in the assembly and study to Ronnie Bentson. . I, Loretta Counts, will my ability to stay out of trouble in the assembly to Ray Sip, hoping that he will keep quiet. I, Marlyn Fredericksen, will my ability to get my assingments done on time to Dick Odenbach. I, Phyllis Schmitz, will my ability to always wear an innocent smile to Mr. Humpal so he can win a beauty contest. We, the class of 1958, leave our waste paper to Charlie, our unfinished assignments and pencils stubs to the teachers, our dirty plates to Mrs. Dunkak and our seats in the assembly to the underclassmen.
