SKIP D Y At 1:30 AM on May 5th a sleepy eyed group of twenty seniors, Mr. 8L Mrs. Kinney, Mr. Kennedy, and Mrs. Hulse left the Rock Island depot in Des Moines. After eating breakfast on the train they arrived in Chicago at approximately 8:30. As soon as they had checked into the hotel they began their all day tour of the windy city. This included stops at the Museum of Natural History, Museum of Science and Industry, and Lincoln Park Zoo. In the afternoon they had a boat ride on Lake Michigan and that evening a dinner at Chinatown followed by a tour. The tour covered Chinatown and Skid Row. After spending the night at the Palmer House hotel they had free time the next morning. This was spent shopping and sightseeing. In the afternoon they saw a ballgame and a movie. Then that night they ate dinner in the Prudential building, which is the highest building in Chicago. This was highlighted by an elevator trip to the top.
