Lee VonStein-293 points Our boy's team started off to a flying start. The five starters were tabbed The Iron Men by the Des Moines Register. They won eight games un- til they dropped a one point decision to Saydel. On they went past four more teams, until the county toumaments when Ankeny won by a nose-2 points. Mingo and Altoona also by-passed the boys by close margins. Their last game was with Mingo in the sectional tournament. The Blue Jays went down in defeat 58 -54. This finished a successful season with a 17-5 record. Total Points: BHS 1315, Opponents 953: Of- fensive Average of 62.6 per game and Defensive Average of 45.3 per game. ACTION SNAPS . STUDENT COUNCIL The Student Council officers for the year are: Loretta Kinney, President: Charles Birke- strand, Vice-Presidentg Ron Grant, Secretary, and Audrey Friedrickson, Treasurer. Mr. Kennedy again served as sponsor of the Council. Five members and Mr. Kennedy attended the State Convention at Ames in October. Ron Grant was elected to the State Cabinet.
