H0 ECO ING Queen Drxre Krug Chuck and therr Court Homecomrngl Football 1n the a1r and rn the thoughts of everyone around school For days before everyone had been workrng on floats for the afternoon parade The band led the parade whrch consrsted of nearly a dozen floats around the town On every street corner the people watched the colorful spectacle The Senrors walked away wrth the frrst prrze on therr Homecomrng tram float The Freshmen won second Jumors thrrd and the Sopho mores fourth After the parade a rousrng pep meetmg was held 1n the gym The game rn the evenrng consrderably dampened our sprrrts because we lost to Marlon But everybody had a swell trme at the dance for whrch the Northern Nrght Hawks played The gym was decorated wrth an approprlate fall setung D1x1e Blom and Chuck Meyer were the rergnrng royalty Members of the Court of Honor were Senrors Dave Errckson and Carol Manther Junrors Roger Peterman and Rochelle Rueckert Sophomores Norbert Grosskoph and Marge Wrlhams Freshmen Roy Drrks and Rolean Dobratz an ,41- .an-'M i ,,.-. Grrls rn Jeans scurrred back and forth some were standrng on tab1es,sew1ng rarndrops to the sky some were tryrng to get the crepe paper streamers tacked down some were tramrng stubborn roses to clrmb on the trellrses others were burldrng a stone garden wall The fellas were busy borrowrng beach tables and settrng them up least a half dozen hurrred trrps were made to Shawano and nearly every other place to get last mmute artrcles And then all done at last' Except for decoratrng the Powder Room gettrng some lamps scrubbrng the floors etc Act ll Evenrng Desplte the doubts of everyone concerned the Garden rn the Ram Prom was a success rn every respect S l ver ratndrops prcket fences trellrses and cltmbrng roses helped to create a garden lrke atmosphere Formally dressed couples drrfted here and there dancrng talkrng and laughrng Harold Ferron s orchestra provrded the musrc for everyone s lrstenrng and dancrng enjoyment Krng Jrm Herb and hrs Queen Joyce Moede rergned over the gala event Barbara Tuma and Bobby Rankrn were the proud crown bearers The Court of Honor consrsted of Bob Dreger and Judy Boyer representatrves of the honored Iuntor Class Wally Zernrcke and Terry Herb representrng the Senror Class Darlene Blom escorted by Roland Genke for the Sophomore Class and Clme Cagle and Audrey Petterson as representatrves of the Freshmen 3- ' arpw -1.
