Myron herinan D The Studept Council under the direction of Miss Mary Jane Weber held their weekly meeting each Wednesday morning before school The Council was composed of the Class Presidents and two capable representatives from each class This group of twelve members was the means by which the students voiced their opinions about various school activities The officers elected were President Louie Kroll Secretary Treasurer Dixie Blom This years council selected many educational and entertaining lyceum programs which were enjoyed by all the students These included pro grams on magic music art acts of various sources or lectures by prominent people Each program was introduced by a member of the Student Council Another activity which they sponsored and which prov- ed successful was the sale of Defense Stamps During the basketball season the council sponsored jukebox dances after the home games which all the students enjoyed. The Red Cross program in our school was sponsored by the council. The Student Council has been steadily growing and developing since it was organized in 1951 and in a few more years it should prove to be a great asset to our school. 23
