if VAR ITY F00'I'BALL fag F5 ,M ig , qjwiffi s fs One ofthe highlights of the Sl-52 school year was our A-1 football team Although starting the season with a heart-breaking loss, the team went on to compile one of the most impressive records Bonduel High School has ever had the honor to possess, as far as sports were concemed. After losing theopen- ing game to Pulaski, 13-12, the Bears tumed defeat into victory and walked off with the honors for the next six starts, respectively, Luxenberg, 24-6g Manawa, 20-Og previously undefeated West DePere, 19-13g New Holstein,32- 14g Marion, 32-6g finishing the season by whipping Weyauwega, 24-6. The Gridiron greats consisted of l31ettermen retuming from the Zemicke, Rod Blom, Jack Herb, and Elmer Richter in the backfield. George Vanden Brook, Louie Kroll, Ken Schwiegert, Marshall Meisner, Clarence Schneider, Don Theyel, Jim Johnson and Wallace Klosterman forming the line. The remainder of the team was made up of under-classmen with as much game spirit as veteram. previous year. These included Wallace Some of the outstanding feats of the season include: Louie Krol1's 95 yard run for a touchdown on a beautifully executed pass play during the West DePere game, the Homecoming game which the boys won by swimming through Marion's line in knee-deep mud for a final score of 32-6 Other hi h . 'g lights, too numerous to mention, delighted the crowd and carried the Bears to one of the greatest seasons in their history.
