The Student Council under the direction of Miss Weber was organized with the objective of giving students some voice in school activities On December 14 1951 the eight members from each class elected as officers- Jack Herb Pres. Jeanette Westerfeld Sec. Treas. The Council met weekly to discuss school problems which arose during the course of the year. The Student Council Convention was held at Gillett in Feburary. It was attended by Shirley Franckowiak, Sharon Burmeister, Louie Kroll and Jack Herb. After listening to discussions and lectures they retumed with many worthwhile and interesting ideas. Twoofthe major accomplishments of the Council were the establishment ofa Defense Saving Stamp Program and the selection of assembly programs to be held in the school auditorium next year.
