Techies' work was never done, all night the techies worked on cues, sets, and details to bring the stage alive. All this work was directed by Ms. Betty Sabo and Mr. Sears Brown. The set for To Gillian on Her 37th Birthday took more man hours to create and con- struct than the play ran. This set was not only a success for the actors, but also for the techies. The feeling of really l Techies take a break to pose for the yearbook photographer. being on the beach, at a beachhouse, right down to the whispers of the sea, was a result of dedication and a com- mitment to perfection. ln February, seven One- Acts, a series of plays, open- ed. They were all technically directed by students. There were 8 tech crews, consisting of 56 students who were responsible for everything from set design to sound. Stated sophomore Dean Zannone, I want to do this for my career because it's in- teresting, fun, and exciting! I feel really good when l see a set come together. A person who gets up on stage and portrays some- one else, right? Not when it came to Bonanza High's Thespians. Yes, they did make an art W of portraying other people, of QQ course, but they had some Q other qualities, too. 1 The Thespians were hard working, creative, wild and crazy actors. With every new day, they thought up new things to do. They raised money with such things as selling candy, having local high schools per- form plays in Bonanza's theatre and earning some of the profits, selling Christmas gifts, and putting on perform- ances for children. With the money the Thes- pians earned, they traveled to Muncie, Indiana for the Inter- national Thespian Conference and to the, Shakespearean Festival in Cedar City, Utah. The local drama tourna- ments proved plentiful in awards for the 1985-86 school year. Taking many 1st and 2nd places, the group also won the various sweepstakes awards. With Miss Carol Lom- fir. men as their sponsor, the of- '1 3 N 'X I fy- ' X i m : i 5713513 5524? -ft ...fl ficers of the group were Celeste Magee as President, Vice-President Mindy Malloy, Secretary Hayley Herst, and Gaby DesVaux acting as Treasurer. Two-year veteran of Thespians Suzie Villandry stated, Being a member of the group was a fun way to get to know different people.
