the Foreign Exchange program, Mrs. Wright and Schaefer talk with a special BREAK LANGUAGE BAFiFiIEFiS The Foreign Language Department was designed to teach the basic language skills of French and Spanish. My French class is hard, but it has been a very in- teresting and informative class, stated junior Melissa Smith. Not only were students taught language skills, but they also learned about the various countries and cultures. Last year the Reading class was designed for the seniors to develop the basic reading skills that are required to pass the competency test for graduation, stated Ms. Walter. G.V. at 'W' Throughout Bonanza's ten years, there was a great deal of extra help. The library was a great source of educa- tion, with over 17,000 books. Mr. Benoit, Librarian, said, Since I started working at Bonanza, the students are more business-like. Special Education was set up to provide a particular learning environment for the Learning Disabled and Handi- capped students. The pro- gram included classes in Pre- Vocational and Career train- ing. Mrs. Massa said that the purpose of this program was to encourage the develop- ment of self-esteem. The Counseling staff worked overtime to program students into the correct classes. In addition they helped seniors with college admissions and planning.
