N-.s Mathematics is useful in all aspects of life. During Bonanza's Decade of Ex- cellence, there were many improvements. When the school opened, there were on- ly nine math teachers. There were fourteen teachers in this department during the 1985-86 school year. In addi- tion, advanced classes such as Honors and A.P. courses became available. Bonanza students had more choices in their math studies. Enrollment went up and students took more and difficult classes. Mr Flisse the department chairperson said that Teaching methods have not changed. The text- books are more clearly written and better organized. Whatever the reason Bonan- zas academic courses will continue to improve and ex- pand students education. Bonanza offered everything from Basic Drawing to Studio Art, through Industrial, to the Performing Arts. While the Art students us- ed ink pastels and paints to create their projects Industrial Arts classes did a variety of projects from welded metals to woodwork.
