. , ,Ja f ,V U W K gr.. ,' 1 MAKING WA VES! The Bengal Swim Team had a great year again. The team had fifteen returning swimmers, which contributed to its success. Cheryl Simmons, Morgan Bunker, and Meldon Kenney were our top swim- mers. Cheryl Simmons qualified as one fo the top five swimmers in the world, and at- tended the Goodwill Swimm- ing Championships in Russia, Germany and Spain during the summer. Morgan qualified for the Y-Nationals and Junior Nationalsg he swam during the summer in Orlando, Florida and in Texas. Over all, our swimming Bengals ranked third in the city. Team Captain Darren Barker stated, Swimming is a blast and the competitions great! GV l Anxiously waiting for the start, Trevor Carlin and Ken Boyer look for- ward to winning. l Waiting for the meet to start, Morgan Bunker and Meldon Kenny greet the rest of the team, I Strolling his way to the finish line, Meri Sage shows his backstroke style. I Racing for the finish, Yolanda Rangel splashes ahead easily in a free-style race.

BA TTER UP! The 1986 baseball season displayed spirit as several outstanding players were vying for positions on the teams. The teams were strong both offensively and deten- sively and posed a threat on the bases. The hurlers who helped determine the success of the teams were Joe Auteri, Doug Brazda, Devin Pep- pers, and Scott Ciecko. Behind the plate, Jeff Ap- pleyard and Steve Barnson were sharing roles. Both were progressing well and hitting from opposite sides of the plate. The team was excep- tionally strong in the outfield and exhibited a spiritual team effort. Leading the Varsity baseball team were Coach Bob Harris and Coach Bill I The Hursk turning two! l Scott Ciecko going down for the low pitch. l The Brew on a super stretch.
