The spirit of the Varsity team also had a strong impact on the J.V. team. Under the leadership of Joe Barry, the J.v,,team managed, sto show great spirit and cooperation. The team worked well mental- ly as well as physically while preparing for the games. The newest member to Volley- ball was the B Team consisting of younger players who were working their way to playing on the J.V. team. The B Team lead Bonanza to a 12-3 victory for the volleyball season. The 'B' team gives the girls a chance to better their skills for striving to learn better techniques, said Shelby Bowler. The Goal to Win! Bonanza's Varsity Soccer Team rose to a great first part of the season, starting out with a 7-O record until meeting the Gaels of Gorman, who beat them 2-0. They didn't let that loss discourage themg they came right back and beat Clark, The rest of Varsity's season was tough, they lost only two more games, finishing the season with an 11-3 record. After ending a great season, Varsity went to the zone tournament where they made the final four. Coach Phil Lawton said, Steve Deitrich was the best Sweeper I have had in five years. Also he noted that, Steve Latham and Vince McCafferty were great tributes to the team. Most of us forgot what was probably the most important position on the team: the goalkeeper. Thanks to the great goalkeep- ing of Erik Stepaniak and Danny Edwards, Bonanza's varsity was sift!
