SIVIASHING SEASON' The Bengals had a fair tennis season last year. They acquired a lot of new talent in Tim Schnaible, Tim and Kevin Faber. The most impor- tant assets to the team were the top two singles players, lra Baker and Sal Maiorino, who were only sophomores with two more years of eligibility. Bonanza only graduated three seniors last year, Erik Stepaniak and Jim and Jeff Appleyard, and is expected to have a great season next year. The Bengals' lra Baker stated, We had a pretty good season. We only lost one match we shouldn't have to Chaparral. Next year l think we'll come in second and l hope that l go to State! The team ended up with a record of 6-4. Next year the team should be more wetl- rounded, especially in doubles play. With extra effort and a lot of practice, the tennis team could possibly win their divi- sion. Good luck!
