Bergf, Johnsen graduated from Ohio State University and was commissioned in December 1978. He completed flight training and was designated an S unrestricted Naval Aviator in August 1980. His first tour was Naval Air Station Meridian, Mississippi in December 1980, where he flew Search and Rescue!Air Station pilot duties in the UH-1N and C-lA. He also served as the Station Photo and Quality Assurance Officer in the Captain Berg-Johnsen reported to Squadron Light CHSLJ 37, NAS Barbers Point, following transition tothe SH-ZF. HSL-37 Detachment FIVE, in Uss, November 1983 to July 1984 also Officer and in July the LAMPS MK III and Test Evaluation. reported to HSL-47, NAS held the Safety Officer and Operations as OIC of HSL-47 Detachment EIGHT, and CCG 595 during Operation Desert Shield and March 1992 he reported to the Bureau of Naval Personnel as Manpower Analysis Section.
